Veterans Affairs urged higher benefits for disabled veterans
William J. Driver, VA Administrator, told a house sub committee that the cost of boosting vocational rehabilitation and war orphans education aid would run about 23.5 million dollars over five years. He also urged a ten year extension of the vocational training deadline to aid long term psychiatric patients and others with severe disabilities. Previously he pressed for a 130 million dollar annual rise in service disability compensation and a 20 percent boost for vocational rehabilitation allowances.
