Richland Climbers and Rock Island Teachers Gather for Summer Meetings
The Richland Climbers met at Carol Stursma's home on July 22, led by president Bonnie Nibbelink, with ten members attending. They discussed exhibition articles for county air, and gave flower arranging demos by Mildred and Anna Marlene Westerkamp, plus a picture mounting talk by Clara Van Gorp. A lunch followed. The Rock Island school teachers and pupils held their second annual reunion on July 27 at the school grounds with over 200 attendees, including a basket dinner, varied musical and vocal performances, and awards for oldest teacher and pupil, farthest traveler, and corsages for former teachers. The annual picnic is planned for next year’s last Sunday in July.
