American Legion and Auxiliary held a large picnic two miles north of town after rain delayed plans. About 57 Legion members and a similar number of Auxiliary or family members attended, with a group photo taken. A plentiful supper was served and many ordered copies of the picture. Vacation Pil Grim's Progress My Dear Mr. Young

I arrive at Cape Colorado a hundred miles east of Denver with a general store, bank, church and few houses. We covered 700 miles in three and a half days via Knoxville Indianapolis Winterset and Greenfield to Culbertson then Haigier. The roads were mostly hard and travel by automobile proves democracy as thousands journey for America's nature and growth. We praise trailer travel for comfort and economy and defend the automobile against critics while noting varied outfits and humility of travel.
