Engineers Outline Plan for Red Rock Reservoir Impacts
Officials from the Corps of Engineers and multiple counties met in Knoxville to discuss potential future problems around the Red Rock Reservoir. Topics covered include fire protection costs, elevation policy changes, low level roads, flood frequency, and funding for maintenance and possible repairs with government involvement. The group agreed on a package deal where new roads will be built to Highway Standards and government funding may cover excessive damages, with final decisions pending audit by federal authorities.
