The German Inventor and the Hidden Money
In 19th century Cincinnati a German instrument maker Peter Muller hid $5,000 for a house in a wool stocking. When the money vanished he suspected his journeyman Hans Klockke. Muller staged a late night demonstration, using a machine to name the thief, and accused Klockke as the crowd watched a man collapse fainting as the truth loomed.
