Albert Rietveld builds a conservation pond in Bethel area
Albert Rietveld completes a twenty acre drainage pond with a one acre surface and twenty feet depth. Built with the help of Marion County Soils District and engineer Floyd Vetter, it involved 3400 cubic yards of dam material and a steel pipe outlet. The pond, not yet full, will be stocked with fish and fenced to protect banks, with rye seeding planned and hopes for rain to fill and stabilize the watershed for livestock water and recreation.
