Gumption On The Farm
A compact rural advice piece extols farming prudence and home remedies. It urges partnership with a good wife, thrift with tools, and practical notes on pest control and preservation of implements. It also hints at seasonal rutabaga harvests and stock feed strategies.
Womanly wisdom for home and kitchen tips
Practical homemaking hints cover cleaning grease with soda cloths, drying berries to prevent mold, preventing clumping salt with rice grains, silent floor protection with felt or rubber feet, rice glue for paper, butter and suet blends in fruit cakes, lard substitutes, and quicker cuts for string beans using diagonal scissors to speed cooking.
