County and state road projects in the county employ about 125 men, Merle Staley reports. Over 76 laborers work on state projects near Bussey and Melcher, where bituminous surfacing is being applied to roadbeds. The work uses creosoted oil and a rock base with sand and clay, applied by a special machine. The highway bids this year favor this surfacing method.
