Tom Duncan operates on a large insurance company farm where 93 acres on both banks of a former deep gully employ strip cropping and contour ropes. WPA built two large dams, terraced fields, and a central water system enabling easy livestock shifting. The oats crop is heavy but moisture limited, and overall value rose from under 37.5 to about 75 dollars per acre after improvements.
