Pageant Celebrates Tercentenary at Pell a College Field
The Great Tercentenary Pageant marking 300 years of settlement was staged at the College Athletic Field on June 29 under Miss Bailey’s guidance. Despite heavy rain, Friday’s clear weather allowed a vivid outdoor drama with Indians, Dutch pioneers, and global figures depicted through elaborate costumes and amplified by WHO. The two hour performance traced Dutch settlement, church founding, the American Revolution era, mission work in India, and the arrival of Dr Scholte to Pella.
