Social Security Disability timing and rules explained
A 1965 chronicle column explains when to apply for social security disability and notes benefits cannot start in the first six months while permitting filing during the waiting period to avoid delays. It also states disability benefits are only for people disabled before age 65 and that monthly amounts are calculated the same whether or not disability exists.
The Pretty Things and the Search for the New
The author contrasts biblical songs of deliverance with modern music groups like the Beatles and the Pretty Things. He critiques the restless craving for novelty in culture, likening it to pagan displays and warning that newness often dissolves like snow. He cites Paul in Athens and laments ongoing pursuit of change over the tried and true.
