Traveling 1000 Miles an Hour A Scientist's View
Prof H W Pietenpol told the Baptist church Men’s Brotherhood that the earth travels at about 1000 miles per hour relative to the stars, faster than any vehicle, while we remain unaware. He urged Christians to look to the heavens, noting the moon’s 240000 mile distance and that the sun’s 93 million mile gap holds immense power. He explained planetary motion, solar composition, and light speed, urging a respectful view of science and faith.
