Clarence W. Goodell born August 11 1896 in Chesterfield Illinois to Frank and Daisy Goodell. Married Ione Winger June 1 1918 in Newton Iowa. two daughters Geraldine and Norma. He farmed near Cambria and ran a Cambria store, then West End Cafe in Pella, later Des Moines 5714 Franklin St. Owned Western Auto Hardware in Monroe until retiring in 1963. Died January 3 1965 at age 68. Survived by wife Ione two daughters eight grandchildren. WWI veteran member of Fred Slayden Post Monroe and Masonic Lodge Humeston. Funeral January 6 1965 United Presbyterian Church Monroe. Interment Oakwood Cemetery Pella with military rites. Funeral home Van Dyk-Duven.

Men’s Volleyball Registration Set at Legion Building
Registration for an eight week Men’s Volleyball program will be held January 14 at the Legion Building from 1 30 p m to 9 p m. The program starts January 18 at 7 30 p m at the Junior High School.
