Marion county faces about 71 000 for road funds in 1940 with only 6 000 available to the board of supervisors after prior overdrafts and interest on certificates. Of the 71 000, 60 000 comes from state gas tax and 11 000 from local road taxes, with 25 000 for township roads and 46 000 for county work.
