Farmer Loses Suit Over Dead Horse Near Newton
Don Morrison a Newton area farmer lost his suit to recover 160 dollars for a dead horse after District Judge J G Patterson directed a verdict for defendant Charles Guthrie. Morrison claimed fraud in sale over an 11 year old mare said to be a good work horse but aged over 20 and died foaling. The court ruled fraud in sale was not proved.

Creamery Business Nearly Half Million in 1937
The Sully Cooperative Creamery reported 1937 business near 0.5 million dollars with a 140,422 pound butter gain over 1936. Output rose from 370,000 pounds in the first year to 910,000 pounds last year. Sales included 72,363 pounds to patrons, 84,427 pounds locally, and 752,832 pounds to outside markets. The feed department posted 178,088.71 dollars in business. President H. B. Van Rockel praised prospects for 1937 and noted 4,800 more pounds of butter produced last week than the prior year. Flames erupt from radiator as two men flee stalled pickup near Decatur
