Iowa News and Comment by J W JARNAGIN 1925
Des Moines reports say Governor Clarke backed capitol grounds expansion as best state investment. Jester notes land value now doubles, despite earlier market weakness. Agricultural stats show fewer horses, rising cows and hogs, deer in Lucas county, and a new Polk county WWI memorial plan. Local notes cover Grand Army Post disbanding, ice regatta plans, charity weddings, and notable old doctors, with assorted farm and social updates across Iowa towns.

It also reveals a curbside spark plug cleaner from stranded copper wire and a home made insulating paint using denatured alcohol and broken phonograph records, yielding a black finish that stiffens cardboard panels and covers 15 to 20 sq ft per pint. A rifle-range style steel golf practice net is installed in a Los Angeles club to improve driving accuracy by visualizing ball impact and distance.
