Kiwanis Club resumes its Travelog Series with a ten week recess reading on Thursday evening February 17 at 7 30 Deuwstra Chapel. Clifford Kamen will narrate Pot of Paris and Greece culture in color photographs from Delphi Athens Marathon and Greek hinterlands. Col John D Craig visits Pella March 3 with Spanish Main Adventure and Nida Smith stories march 10 to Tibet finale.

Pella High routs Winterset 68 99 on their floor to secure second place in the South Central Conference. Herb Blom Bob Hiemstra and Don Hiemten sparked a fast start as Pella built a 19 10 lead, then widened to 80 21 at halftime. Regional Cancer Campaign Planning Meeting Held Here Tomorrow
Cancer campaigners from nine neighboring counties will attend a regional planning meeting here tomorrow in the morning and afternoon. The session, the third in February, will set plans for the 1985 fund raising drive in April designated Cancer Control Month. North Marion County ACS chairwoman Mrs. M. C. Wartburg College defeated Central College 88 to 70 to deprive the Dutchmen of first place in the Iowa Conference. Sophomore guard Art Margheim led Wartburg with nine first-half field goals as center Bob Adixy was limited to 11 points by strong defense from Vander Linden. Central trailed 44 to 28 at halftime and could not close the gap, despite A. Ver Hoef’s 14 second-half points and Vic Manusier’s 12. Central’s next home game vs Dubuque University follows, with Dubuque as the only other conference team to beat Wartburg locally.

Pella hosts a benefit basketball doubleheader at Central College gym Friday night to raise funds for the March of Dimes. Public B vs Christian High boys at 7:00 p.m. followed by Pella High girls vs Chelatinn High girls at 8:15 p.m. Funds, plus drives by Federated Club members and other groups, pushed the total toward a substantial donation.
