Farm prices for January rise sharply in Iowa
From the Des Moines Register, farm editor J S Russell reports Iowa farm price index at 117 percent of prewar average on Jan 15 1935 up 24 points from Dec 15 1934. Livestock prices lead gains with hogs up from 5.10 to 7.20 per cwt cattle 5 to 7.10 and butterfat 29 to 83 cents. Grain prices fell slightly.

Albia Youth Fined After Crash
Edward Scaffinger of Albia, a high school senior, was fined 25 dollars and costs with the fine suspended on payment of costs after pleading guilty to driving without a license in Justice E J Turner's court. The charge stemmed from an accident west of Albyn that left Mildred Dotts of Albin badly cut. she rode with Scaffinger, Mary Louise Chester, and Elmer Snell in a car owned by Floyd Scaffinger. They collided with Virgil Lewis of Russell on Clay Hill while returning from a school trip.
