Under the Roof Storage Adds Handy Closet Space
Extension home management specialist Naomi Shank outlines plans from Iowa State College to convert under roof attic slants into permanent storage. The leaflet HM 118 covers adjustable shelves drawers and hanging rods built from plywood with lightweight frames. The design includes a reachable back area, adjustable rod heights for growing children, deep top shelves for bedding, pullout trays for garments and linens, and a drop hinged desk top study area. Three sections form a compact storage unit near the desk, aiming to use every inch of space efficiently.

Storage unit adaptable to various roof angles and spaces
The plan outlines a unit seven feet high by seven feet wide, sloped to fit roof angles. It can be adapted section by section to different floor spaces and roof slants. Due to door and stair widths between houses, this storage unit is best as a permanent built in.
A Child Delights Teacher With Christmas Apple
A kindergarten pupil brings a prettily wrapped apple to her teacher for Christmas. The teacher smiles and says she had wished for an apple the night before. Classmates find the coincidence amusing as the story continues with a larger gift weeks later.
