Winter travel and visits noted in local notices

Seventy-Five 4-H'ers Receive County Banquet Awards
Seventy-five 4-H club members earned over 100 county and state awards at the annual 4-H banquet attended by 470 4-H'ers, parents, leaders, and friends. The event closed the 1966-57 4-H year with awards presented by Mrs. Lester Rankin and L. C. Shivvers.

Sigourney Woman Seeks Quilt Return to Kind Stranger
Mrs. W. R. Barlow of Sigourney asks for identification of a man who stopped near Delta on Highway 92 five miles west of Sigourney to cover two injured Indies with a quilt until an ambulance arrived after a Sunday wreck on October 20. She requests the gentleman’s address to return the quilt.

Aliens to file annual address reports under new rule
District Director Robert C Wilson of the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Omaha Nebraska announced a coming obligation for aliens to report their U S addresses to the Attorney General. All aliens in the United States on January 1 must report by the end of January with few exceptions including diplomats international organization personnel and temporary agricultural workers. Reports available at post offices or immigration offices during January and penalties for noncompliance are specified by law.

Farmers Exchange Annual Meeting Held December 10
The Farmers Co op Exchange of Pella held its annual meeting on Tuesday December 10 in the Public High School auditorium with James R. Vander Waal presiding. About 500 attendees heard the distribution of 26000 in cash dividends and a report of net savings over 41000 for the year. Tudor G Ver Meer was re elected to the Board and Henry Gosselink was elected to replace Bert Vander Werff.

In the Justice of the Peace court five fines were levied for offenses in December. Leonard M. Gosselink of Pella paid $15 for speeding on November 30. Maurice Eugene Groenendyk of Tracy paid $3 for a stop sign violation on December 38. Marvin Dwight May of Knoxville paid $3.50 for a stop sign violation on December 4.
