Messiah at Douwstra Chapel Enthralls Overflow Audience
The Messiah wove lush choruses and solos under Prof. Marvin Thostenson with Edith Le Cocq and Nadine Lindquist Flinders delivering strong performances. Harold Reeves and Keith Booth impressed as soloists as 150 voices and a 30 piece orchestra carried Handel’s choral triumphs, though brief stage issues reminded of the event’s human effort. The program, broadcast on KEBS, drew an audience beyond the chapel doors.
