Farmers can divert 20 to 50 percent of base with higher payments for larger diversions. participation affects price support for corn sorghum and barley.

Farm Bureau Women Turn Bottles into Art in County Craft Night
Farm Bureau women from Liberty and Indiana Townships gathered on November 21 to repurpose old bottles and dishes into glass art. They heated shards at 400 degrees for thirty minutes then cooled them in ice water to create shapes like vases flowers horses and a tree.

Coyote bounty paid in Mahaska County for large catch
Larry Harding of Eddyville collected a $10 bounty at the Mahaska county auditor s office for a coyote shot near the damp grounds about four miles south of Oskaloosa. He brought in the skin and said four cubs were sighted but escaped. Auditor Frank B Heslinga noted this is the second bounty paid this year.
