Pella People Injured In Webster City Auto Collision
Mrs. Kate Carl and Mrs. K. A. Ver Heul of Pella were hurt ten miles north of Webster City when the Bienes car collided with an oncoming vehicle. Both women were taken to DM Hospital, not in serious condition, and expected to be released soon. Ver Heul, son of Heul, went to the hospital, later reporting the crash less severe than first feared. The accident occurred as Ver Heul tried to pass a truck, veered into a ditch to avoid a northbound car, while Carl had just returned from a trip and planned a two week stay in Orange City with Nora Scholte.

Mystery Fire Threatens Barn on Van Zante Farm Near Pella
A mysterious blaze on Herman Van Zante’s farm near Pella damaged a straw pile and fence but was halted by quick action from Gerrit Snellers and neighbors. Mrs. Snellers spotted smoke as a small fire started atop the straw, with no smoking on site. An airplane seen minutes earlier sparked questions though locals doubt airborne sparks caused the blaze. Dozens helped douse the flames and move water, and the editor is asked to thank volunteers for preventing further damage.
