Local notes from Pella and surrounding areas
Des Moines visitations, hospital stays, and family visits fill the week. Miss Jeannette Renaud and Mrs Dorothy Wormhoudt travel and return, while local families host kin from Des Moines, Broken Bow, and Hedrick. The Model advertises men’s suits and bargains as Do It Yourself and farm listings appear, plus assorted society updates and a farm for sale in Monroe.

Dan Mulpolder Returns From Holland Visit
Dan Mulpolder former Pella restaurant man returned Friday from Holland after selling his restaurant and visiting relatives and former home. He finds Holland’s economy tied to Germany, with a general downturn affecting business. Two of his brothers moved to America last spring and another plans to join when immigration quotas permit, likely within two months. He says he is glad to be an American citizen and will soon join his family in Pasadena, California after selling his local business.
