Kindergarten Schedule Told For Rural Pupils
Rural kindergartners at the Pella Center will split into morning and afternoon groups with two way bus service. Morning riders board the regular run and are returned at noon by carryall, then afternoon pupils are picked up during the noon hour. Pella High Ag Instructor Keith Hopp outlines a shift to more practical agricultural teaching. Be stock and corn fertility are studied using real farm plots with hands on overhaul of a tractor and farm engines slated for the ag II and IV classes. The public is invited to inspect the test plot east of the new high school.

First Summer Session A Success at Pella High School
Pella Community High School extended summer class work for the first time with remedial offerings in reading and arithmetic, plus ongoing instrumental music. New this year were driver education, psychology, and typing for secondary students. About 38 enrolled in the eight week driver education program directed by Dave Bender. Ed Epperly led psychology. Ed Vander Weele taught typing. Price marks 60 years in banking service at White State Bank. Rural students from Sharon Bergman, Leighton, Otley attended morning or all-day sessions as noted.

Electrical Accident Severs Injury At Odebolt Residence
Murl Sorensen sprained his ankle when an electrical line arced at the Harry and Richard Sadijson home in Odebolt Iowa. He was installing wiring in a new garage for Iowa Public Service and fell twelve feet from a wooden ladder after being shocked and knocked off balance.
