Exams in Chinese pass but papers arrive next fall. We decorate graduating exercises and face hot days and silk worm season while planning move to mountain outpost with Ellen Peterson. Crossing rivers by boat near Ningpo to San Chiao Pu we endure bridge perils and fog then reach new home with bamboo forests and a paved route for chairs and carriers. We settle into furnished rooms pay less than peers and adjust to mountain life with tennis visits and cooking duties awaiting a cook.
