White Breast Park festival begins with campfire and dances
White Conta Engineers notes that White Breast Park hosts a weekend festival with a $2 nightly fee, no advance registrations, and an 8 p.m. Friday kickoff at Coal Port Beach. Events include a square dance, bird walks by Mrs Gladys Black, water skiing contests, fishing contests, a sail regatta at Lake Red Rock, an ice cream social, and fireworks. Sunday features a worship service, horseshoe pitching, and a dedication with prizes. A Labor Day make up day is planned if rain affects events. Also a zoning petition seeks to convert part of Lot 19 to industrial use in Pella with a public hearing set for Aug 28.
