The Rock Island District Corps of Engineers will open bids at 2 p.m. C.D.T. on Thursday, May 26, 1966, to lay 4.2 miles of new railroad track to carry the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad across the White breast Creek arm of Lake Red Rock, three miles west of Knoxville, Iowa. The project will see the removal of 46 miles of existing Burlington track and the installation of 3.9 miles of new communication line, with 4.1 miles of old line removed.
