4-H Members Offered Award For Good Report
Information is being sought from 4-H Clubsters of the State this summer through the National 4-H Rural Electrification Program designed to advance farm electricity use on efficient lines. Approval by the State Extension Service makes all club members eligible for participation. Gains in farms served by high lines reached about 200,000 last year, totaling 1,241.
Westinghouse awards for 4-H electricity reports
Contest invites 4-H members to document farm electricity use in poultry canning and other projects. Awards include a gold medal, a trip to the National 4-H Club Congress, and college scholarships of 400, 800, 200 and 100 dollars funded by Westinghouse. No fee is required.

Marion County Women Organize Chorus Officers Elected

Obituary: Willem Maas Van Peursem of Orange City
Willem Maas Van Peursem died at his Orange City home on Monday April 4 at 8 am from old age. He would have turned 85 on April 8. Born in Ede Gelderland Netherlands he arrived in America with his parents in 1856 and settled in Sioux County in 1871. He was a farmer south west of Orange City before moving to town. He married Sebia k who died 1891, then Fannie Graanstra who died 1980. Survived by four children from the first marriage and a brother W BY of Pella. Funeral rites held with Rev Il Colenbrander. Mrs William Van Pearsem of Grand Rapids attended.
