During National Library Week the Pella public library showcases inter library loan ILITE delivery to seniors story hour and access to Des Moines regional library materials. The Learning Resource Center at Central College offers free use to residents over 14 and rural neighbors. Books periodicals and new titles are always available.

The mostly bands event drew cheers, with the group delivering a disciplined, enthusiastic show despite rain. Sidney Iowa Rodeo Grows From Humble Beginnings
The Sidney rodeo in Fremont County, Iowa, began in 1926 as a four day event run by the American Legion, with a $500 purse.
