Don’t Leave Mulch on Strawberries Too Long
Warm sunny weather signals strawberry growers to check mulch. A. E. Cott from Town State College advises pulling mulch back when plants start to grow and uncovering spaces between rows. Leaving mulch too long causes pale yellow plants, reduced sun, and possible smothering. remove only enough mulch, then rake back if cold returns.

Denmark Iowa History: Early Churches Colleges and Noted Pioneers
The small Iowa town of Denmark in Lee County played a pivotal role in 19th century religious and educational development. It hosted the first Congregational Church in Iowa in 1888, housed Denmark Academy founded in 1943, and saw pioneer minister bands inducted in 1843. Plans in 1844 led to the creation of Iowa College, later Grinnell College, with Denmark remembered for contributing to the state's cultural welfare.
