County Receives State Credit For Homestead Taxes
The State of Iowa paid Marion county funds from homestead tax credits. Half the credit arrives by April 1 and the other half about six months later. Marion county’s 1040 credits totaled about 115,311 with 108,043 the prior year, paid from state taxes. County Treasurer L. I. Bousquet noted the payments come from sales income and corporation taxes, and each taxing unit will receive its share after final calculations. Delinquent tax payments last week prompted Treasurer L. F. Bousgust to keep offices open Saturday afternoon to assist taxpayers, Knoxville Journal reports.
