Farewell for Dr Den Besten heads to Nigeria mission
Mrs Ed Den Besten and family bid farewell to Dr Lawrence Den Besten and wife as they prepare for medical missionary work in Mkar Nigeria. A March 20 dinner at a South Holland church featured slides and prayers. Attendees included Den Besten relatives from Illinois Michigan and Iowa with one son unable to attend due to a car accident. The group thanked the couple and noted departures set for mid April and late May after four years of study at University of Iowa Hospital.

Saundra Willemsen won grand prize at the Lynnville Sully Science Fair on March 16 for Chromographic Study of Bacteria and topped Biology. Cathy Gertsma was second in Biology. Dale Vander Wilt got honorable mention for Movement of Substances Through a Membrane. In Physical Sciences Barbara Gosselink led with Soap Bubbles and Films.

Orders approved include erroneous assessment of Jen B Kendall for 25.42 and multiple quarterly reports from officials such as Recorder Jack Carpenter Clerk of Court GPA Bruce Justice of the Peace J C Van Der Veer and others. Bonds approved for See Floyd McCarl Jacob Van Der Veer and others. Accounts from the Postage Auditor Office Courthouse and various departments were presented and approved including supplies, utilities, and services for the county offices and roads fund.
