Man Aged Eighty Takes Own Life
Robert Booth, a Polk county farmer living south of Prairie City, was found hanging from a tree limb over a creek Thursday morning around 11 o'clock after an all night family and neighbor search. The 80 plus year old man was missed Wednesday afternoon from his home, and remains were located within a quarter mile of the house. A wire was used and life appeared extinct for several hours.

Funeral services held after death in Prairie City
The Polk county coroner was called but no inquest was held. Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon from the residence and conducted by Rev. F. B. Gore of the Prairie City Methodist Episcopal church. He leaves a widow and six children. A daughter is ill at home and a son-in-law is badly injured from a circle saw incident.
