He questions the Booster's aim and calls for focus on local business.
The Democratic State convention met in Cedar Rapids with strong turnout and party planning for the campaign. D W Wilkes was the only delegate from this township. Gen Weaver missed the at large nomination and will seek the governorship in primaries. River counties opposed Weaver due to his prohibition stance. the delegation was instructed to vote for Bryan.

The Marion county Teachers Institute drew an audience of over 200 with Miss Smith praised for leadership. Mrs Hattie Mitchell was popular for her inventive, late evenings of classroom ideas. Dr W C Wilcox spoke on Bible in schools and the coming crisis, while concerts from the Central Glee Club and visits to Ainsworth Waterloo Muscatine and Central City were noted.
