Wes Ritchie former Storm Lake news writer and editor of the Iowa Rural Electric News was elected president of the National Electric Cooperative Editorial Association at its annual meeting in Seattle Washington last month.
A reader letter in the Pella Chronicle thanks the paper for its coverage of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr visiting Pella on March 22 and praises local ministers for discussing potential disruptions. The letter notes King will speak for about two to three hours with a news conference, drive to Pella after, and a possible coffee hour if time allows.
Agriculture Committee of the Pella Chamber of Commerce coordinates the Farmers-Merchants Banquet at Central College March 21 with Ernie Engbers and Bob Van Hemert in charge. A public information program on personal property tax relief is set for March 27 at Douwstra Chapel featuring Bill Reichardt and trade association reps.
