Adoption and birth announcements list Rebecca Lynn Epperly born June 30 with Iowa relatives. Christopher Alan Steenhoek born July 15 weighing 8 lbs 4 oz. siblings and extended family named. Traci Rae Van Dyk born July 16 with family elsewhere. Hospital admissions and discharges across Pella area for July 13 14 and transferring to nursing home noted.
Three area students graduated from the M shalltown School of Practical Nursing Friday July 16 at the Community Colossium in Marksalltown. Arlea Bakker Arlene Ustermarkt and Norma Van Donselaar are named. Arlea daughter of Rev and Mrs Paul Bakker of Sully will work at Pella Medical Clinic. Arlene daughter of Mr and Mrs Dick Ustermarkt of Otley plans to work in Ames or Boone. Norma daughter of Mr and Mrs Carl Van Donselaar of R.R Leighton will be employed at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.
A large July 1 1971 gathering in the Fellowship Hall of First Reformed Church honors Mr and Mrs Worp C Borgman on their 50th wedding anniversary. Family members from across the U S and Canada attend with 225 guests, featuring a program of poems hymns and photos, and a luncheon with gold decor and mementos.
Cynthia Elaine Van Hemert and Dennis J. Van Gorp wed June 18 1971 at Third Reformed Church in a double ring ceremony before about 200 guests. The bride wore a white organza gown with venise lace mantilla. the couple and families hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall and the newlyweds planned to reside in Des Moines after a Tan-Tara honeymoon.
Esther Mae Kramer daughter of Rev and Mrs Siebert Kramer of Pella and Larry Dean Slings son of Mr and Mrs John Slings of Newton wed at Faith Christian Reformed Church June 4 with 150 guests. Rev Roger D Kramer and Rev Siebert Kramer presided. Ceremony featured ivory silk organdy dress and blue velvet accents. Reception followed. couple to Ozarks lake trip.
