Funeral services for Te nis Van Wyk 79 in Monroe church

Funeral services for Te nis Van Wyk 79 who died January 9 in Collins Memorial Hospital Knoxville were held at 1 30 pm at the First Baptist Church Mon roe with Reverend Wayne K Anderson officiating. Burial in Silent City Cemetery Monroe. He was born October 13 1889 in Haarlemmemeer North Holland and came to Pella area at age 34. Survived by wife Grace Eysink four sons Willis Dale Wayne all of Monroe Dr Paul Van Wyk Pella daughter Marie Stover Monroe two brothers two half brothers two step brothers fifteen grandchildren four great grandchildren and many relatives. Also note death of former Otley resident Lester Beyer December 24 in San Antonio Texas.

Former Knoxville youth killed in Vietnam

Corporal Arnold Janssen, formerly of Knoxville, was killed in action on December 22 in Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam. Born June 21, 1948 in Druten, The Netherlands, he was a graduate of Harlan High School in Chicago. Survived by parents Peter and Ida Janssen and three brothers, with services held at Emmanuel Reformed Church on January 3.
