The bride wore a white peau de soie gown with venetian lace sleeves a detachable coat train chapel veil and carried a white daisy mum bouquet. More than 100 dozen cookies and other treats were donated by Leighton and nearby clubs for a Christmas party at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Knoxville. Volunteers and groups including Pleasant Grove Sunshine Club and We Neighbors provided refreshments while third graders from Pella Christian Grade School performed a Nativity play for parents and relatives highlighting the true meaning of Christmas.

Christmas Party for Patients at Petia Nursing Home
On Sunday afternoon December 22 the Hospital Auxiliary held its annual Christmas party for residents at the Petia Community Nursing Home. Mrs Siebelt Hettinga played organ music from Kuyper's Music House and Mr Hettinga sang solo in Dutch. Patients joined in carols, received gifts, and enjoyed refreshments, with Christmas cookies contributed by the Campfire Girls.
