Pioneer pianist Dr Cateau Stegeman Tracy still active at 91
Dr Cateau Stegeman Tracy, once of Pella and longtime Denver musician, is 91 and remains active in music circles. Cited in 1971 by the Colorado Federation of Music Clubs for devotion and achievements, she helped found the Colorado State Board of Music Teachers and led Denver musical life with her Liszt School ties. Born in Pella, she studied with James Madison Tracy, later married Liszt School founder Professor Tracy, and continued teaching after his 1928 death. Her June commencements and honorary Central College degree mark a storied career among many honors and clubs.
