Two Des Moines Men Jailed Over Car Theft Case
One of two Des Moines men charged with larceny of a motor vehicle in Pella earlier this month was sentenced to 60 days in jail on lesser counts. James Rumbaugh, 25, received 30 days on each count to run consecutively after arraignment before Justice J. C. Vanner Veer. Co-defendant Raoul Galvin was jailed as a parole violator by a state agent. The pair were arrested by Pella police for taking a small carry-all, stealing a car on East Second Street, and driving it to Des Moines before abandoning it. Both were bound over to the Marion county district court for vehicle offenses.

Curfew Ordered For Three Pella Youths After Police Probe
Police completed a wide ranging probe leading to curfew orders for three Pella youths. An 18 year old from Knoxville, James P. Philben, faced fines for suming beenga and intoxication after fleeing a Legion hall incident. A 15 year old Pella boy received 6 pm to 7 am curfew for eight weeks for intoxication and egg throwing, plus tampering with a motor vehicle. A 17 or 18 year old was placed under eight week curfew for liquor use, egg throwing, and tampering with vehicles. A 16 year old received six weeks curfew for egg tossing and thefts in multiple towns.
