Community ladies host a cream supper at Ed Shorts near Hale on June 15 to aid the Red Cross and YMCA. Donations gratefully accepted with plenty of music and a friendly night promised.

Town Board approves claims and appoints street official

J A Zink resigns as Street and Alley Commissioner and J B Churchman is elected to the post. Otho Mahuron is unanimously chosen as school trustee. The 1919 tax level is set with crop fund 30 cents per 100 dollars, street and alley 25 cents, sinking fund 9 cents, plus 21 cents per poll.

Ice cream supper hosted by Red Cross and Y M C A at Ed Short s near Hale Saturday night. John L Lee of Lake City Iowa listed as severely wounded in Mondays Casualties was a former Mar tingburg boy. Miss Susie Rush left for Bloomington Sunday to spend the summer in college. The Advance will keep her posted on home events. The Stand rights will be sold to the highest bidder Saturday evening June 22 for the big Fourth of July celebration. Miss Bertha Owens received word today June 10 that her brother Clifford M Owens had arrived safely across the sea.

Auto Collision at Markland Pharmacy Corner Causes Minor Damage

Rodger Phillips and Frank Wade collided Sunday morning at the Markland Pharmacy corner. Frank’s car suffered only minor damage while no injuries occurred.
