Fatal IS 20 rear end collision claims Pecos man
A 33 year old Pecos resident Gordon Glenn Bishop died after a late night crash on IS 20 four and a half miles east of Hwy 285. Bishop driving a 1968 Del Tex Candy Co truck apparently fell asleep and struck a 1967 International cattle truck driven by Albert Leroy Davis. Passenger Charles Pelton was uninjured. Bishop was trapped for over an hour and died at Memorial Hospital of multiple injuries. The cattle truck trailer was owned by Cattlemen's Livestock Association and the accident blocked the road while Pecos Fire Department and sheriff's department assisted. Funeral arrangements were set for Junction. Bishop was born June 5 1935 in Junction and survived by a wife and two children.
