Meet the Eagles night showcases Pecos 1972 squad
A large Pecos High School crowd attended Meet the Eagles night in the auditorium. The Pecos Eagles were introduced by head coach Jerry Millsapps and junior varsity coaches Dub Smith and Jim Strother. Band majorettes and cheerleaders performed, players were introduced, and the alma mater closed the program. Refreshments followed as fans spoke with coaches and players.

Pecos teen exchange student dies in New Zealand crash
James de Deene 20 a Pecos Rotary exchange student from New Zealand in 1976 died in an automobile accident Aug 19 while traveling in New Zealand with three friends. He lived with the Davis, McGowen and Hughes families in Pecos and was born July 25, 1952. He is survived by his parents Mr and Mrs R L de Denne a sister Tessa and an aunt Mary. He had recently become engaged to Christine.

Pecos Motors Inc at 120 S Cedar St reported a second break in within a week. A window on the east side and an interior entry allowed access to the office area. Shop foreman Bob Faulkner found the damage and alerted police. nothing missing though desk drawers were opened and a car inside was searched.
