Sul Ross adds two faculty members for fall semester
Sul Ross State University announces two new faculty appointments effective this fall. Dr Paul A Will becomes assistant professor in charge of the meat technology program in the Range Animal Science Department and Jean L Wallman will instruct in the vocational nursing program at Big Bend Memorial Hospital. Will earned a PhD in food science from Oklahoma State University after a master’s there in 1974 and A Ms from Texas A&M. Wallman, a 1953 Milwaukee Co Hospital School of Nursing graduate, previously directed the BBMH nursing program and later led nursing at Tucson Medical Center.

A Friday workshop at Odessa College, in the Composite Technology Building, addresses nutrition's role in preventing and treating alcoholism. Dr. Philip Zbylot of Austin, a Texas Commission on Alcoholism trainer, leads with co sponsors Odessa College and the Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission. Registration starts 8 a.m. sessions run until 4 p.m. The event opens with a chalktalk on how nutrition affects alcoholism progression and how better nutrition enhances treatment modalities. Afternoon topics cover family nutrition needs and specific dietary and exercise requirements for recovering alcoholics.
