New Pecos ISD staff announced with nine teachers joining several campuses. Sul Ross Registration Opens As Alpine Fall Term Nears
Sul Ross State College in Alpine begins fall 1968 registration Monday to Wednesday September 2–4 for students by last name. Freshmen orientation runs today. all students must bring social security cards and complete a trial schedule with their advisor. The Mountainside Dorm expands housing by 37 percent with 347 beds, and about 100 courses across six divisions will be offered.

Artesia Scrimmage Shows Strong Blocking and Offensive Line

McCarty Completes Eight Weeks of Marine Recruit Training
Marine Private Danny R. McCarty aged nineteen, son of Mr and Mrs Herbert O McCarty of Pecos Texas, has graduated from eight weeks of recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot. He will begin two to four weeks of individual combat training, then return home for leave before reporting to his first assignment. The program stressed physical conditioning survival skills marksmanship and drill while covering basic military subjects hygiene and Marine Corps customs and history.
