Weather service warns Panhandle travelers of freezing rain
The Weather Service issued a travelers and stockmen warning for the northern Texas Panhandle predicting freezing rain and snow through Saturday. Hazardous driving conditions are likely this afternoon through Saturday with overnight lows around 27 degrees in the Panhandle and 30 in extreme Southwest Texas. The cooling should not spread to Central Texas before Saturday.

Joe Brown, address unknown, was in Reeves County Jail held on 3000 bond after arrest Thursday night in a Toyah auto theft. He was apprehended at a roadblock on IH 10 west of Van Horn after a car owned by Joe Wright of Pecos was reported stolen from a Toyah cafe area around 9:30 p.m. last night.

Immunization drive for Pecos Barstow students begins
Pecos Barstow Schools will immunize all K through 12 students against measles diphtheria and tetanus Monday and Tuesday under Texas Health Department rules. Records from physicians or parental consent for school vaccination are acceptable. Immunization must be completed by January 1 with any immunization record accepted for 1971 72.
