Ehrlichman, living in Santa Fe, NM, was not at court as his lawyer conveyed the request to begin serving jail time rather than wait for Supreme Court appeals.
Snow covered the Lubbock area with nearly an inch falling and most of it remaining, the heaviest October snow on record for the city. Across the Panhandle and West Texas sleet and rain persisted with heavy showers in South Texas. Forecasts predicted more rain tonight and Friday and a warmup by Friday across much of the Plains and Midwest.

Morbid sights and refreshments at a youth fundraiser spook house this Saturday sponsored by Frances Holley. Admission is 25 cents with free coffee for adults. Location is across from the American Inn next to the cantaloupe shed. Proceeds go to a youth activities group.
