Car stereo stolen from 1962 Falcon tied to Maria Wright
On October 1 unknown individuals removed a car stereo from Maria Wright’s 1962 Falcon in the high school parking lot. A separate Sept 30 incident notes a window broken on a 1960 Cadillac by a boy with a slingshot after parents were spoken to. Pecos volunteers responded to an auto fire on Martinez Street, extinguished in three minutes. Admits and discharges listed for Sept 28–30, 1968 with multiple names.

Claude Lee Roquemore 1890 197? Funeral Held
Funeral services were held for Claude Lee Roquemore 78 at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Leslie Smith officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery. Roquemore died at Memorial Hospital Monday after living in Pecos since 1949. He was a World War I veteran born in Comanche County. Survivors include his wife Mary Lee a son Fred a daughter Mrs Mary Nell Jordan a grandchild and several siblings.

Mysterious Drowning Case Remains Open in Reeves County
Description of an unidentified white female aged 18 to 20 circulated widely while the death by drowning was ruled by Justice of Peace J F Hightower. Thousands sent letters, the body rested at Pecos Funeral Home for three weeks, and a drowned girl trust fund was started by Odessa residents.
