Archer suit against Pecos schools deemed invalid
A two month old suit by former Mona hans attorney A R Archer Jr alleging the Pecos school district owes him 24260 remains denied by the district and its attorney John Tomlin. Tomlin says the four Toyah district promissory notes were issued without authority. He notes Archer bought the notes and that Toyah had no amendatory budget to pay them. The board discussed other items including June 7 bid opening for equipment and debate on recruiting minority teachers and curbing non school trips.

Two Men Arrested After Minor Crash On Palmer Street
Carlos Rodriguez 26 of 723 S Ash St and Oscar Jiminez 21 of Airbase Apts were transferred to county jail on marijuana possession charges. Police say the men were arrested in the 1000 block of Palmer Street after a minor two vehicle collision. DPS trooper Hugh Lillie reported custody upon arrival.
